1. What You Got Done
Time keeps moving! What did you get done this week? You don’t want to show up here with nothing. That’s embarrassing, and it’s exactly why we do this—to compel us to get things done.
2. What I Got Done
First, I somehow forgot to mention something I got done last week, so I’m including it this week. I probably forgot to mention it because I was hyper focused on finishing my novel last week. Anyway, I had a lovely speaking gig in Madison, Wisconsin. Details below.
As for this week, I focused on a few projects:
Preparing for a free humor writing webinar next weekend
The Onion Story audiobook
FunnyCon
Free Webinar
The webinar is “Funny in a Flash: 6 Common Mistakes in Short-Humor Writing and How to Fix Them.” If you’d like to join, register here and I’ll see you Saturday, September 13 at noon CT. I hope you can make it!
Audiobook
I’d hoped to wrap up the Onion Story audiobook this week, but editing takes time. Then there’s pickups. Then life intervenes. I told the team at Amazon (Brilliance Audio) that I’d deliver it by Sept 10. I was hoping to turn it in early, but that’s not likely at this point. A sample from this week’s work is attached below as per usual.
FunnyCon
We assembled our sponsorship sales team meeting for FunnyCon. We put some important dates on the calendar, like a ticket sale date, securing the venue, and the like.
Also this week, FunnyCon project coordinator Tam (who you may know from the Writers Room and her podcast) and I met with a possible partner/venue in Chicago. More details to follow.
If you haven’t picked up your FunnyCon earlybird info packet, grab it here. It’s shaping up to be an amazing first-of-its-kind annual event!
Receipts and more below.
Don’t forget to let us know what you got done in the comments!
