1. Accountability Time
It’s that time of the week when we show up and let everyone know what we accomplished in the past 7 days. This is a powerful way to hold yourself accountable, stay productive, and achieve your creative goals.
It works if you post in the comments and lay it all out. Even if you’re embarrassed because you didn’t achieve much, there’s power in posting. The social pressure will motivate you to do better next week.
2. My Week
I finally made headway on my Creativity Machine book this week. I’m jumping around from chapter to chapter and reorganizing chapters as I go. The main ones I worked on:
Chapter 3: Turning it On
Chapter 5: AI and Creativity
Chapter 10: Feedback and Criticism
Those drafts are below. Warning—they’re rough!
I’m in Las Vegas for a keynoting gig at a collegiate conference, which begs the question: What’s the appeal of gambling? Walking through airports and hotel lobbies and seeing people slumped over slot machines is literally the saddest thing in America right now—a tough bar to clear!
My new system for such gigs is to customize the talk as best I can, moving around modular sections. I’m attaching my outline for this talk below.
More, final, final copyedits and legal vetting of The Onion Story came down the pike. I’m pretty sure this book is actually done now. You can even pre-order a copy here.
