Sometimes you set up a great morning routine for maximum productivity, and you stick to it. For a while.
Then you drift.
You come up with other things to add to the routine that aren’t in your best interest, you get a little lax, and you push better habits away.
Adjust your morning routine to accommodate new priorities, of course. But be careful to avoid the drift. Make changes only with careful consideration.
Reassess your morning routine once in a while. Give yourself a little kick in the ass to stick with it.
The best morning routine is this, in two simple steps:
Take care of yourself. Do something that keeps you healthy.
As soon as you’re awake, do your highest-leverage creative work. That means the work that will likely bring you the greatest profit or long-term benefit with the least amount of work.
Set a timer and devote as much time as you can to step 2.
No matter what happens for the rest of the day, if you can do these two things in the morning, you’ll feel productive.
Nice advice Scott...
With my Adhd brain I try and stack things as much as I can...
A chap called Tim spector suggested eating 10 plants a day ( including nuts) so I try and have oats + 5 nuts + raspberries blueberries and blackberries + 3 pints of water.
I try and look at my money situation first to try and organize my mind a little, then naby wrangling, then joke writing.
I yearn for the day when the child wrangling will be less of an obstacle.
The more I am getting into comedy business school these days the more I think I should try and do that as my main creative bit for the day, at least til it's finished.
157 days No Caffeine, Meditation starts the day nice. hope to show my face in the writing room soon.
