This week I worked on my other book proposal (The Dikkers Guide to Comedy and Humor), recorded a week’s worth of videos for social media, and wrote 10 comedy ideas. All of this work is below (the video isn’t edited, so you get to see it raw (albeit only a clip, since it’s not edited, and I decided it would be better not to saddle you with all the footage).
For the book proposal, I wrote an incomplete and crappy first draft of a sample chapter. If you ever wanted to see just how crappy a crappy first draft can be, this is your chance!
Also this week I co-founded an Ai humor company with Bob Mankoff, former cartoon editor of The New Yorker and esteemed subscriber to this newsletter (hi Bob!). It doesn’t have a name yet, but I’m sure it will soon. I’ll share relevant details on the project as they become suitable for announcement.
There’s a new phone in my family, purchased primarily to level up my social media videos. It’s the iPhone 14 (not the iPhone 14 Pro). I’m a Luddite who hates to learn new technology, so this was a leap for me. However, the video is noticeably better than my previous videos. Take a look below and let me know if you agree.
My goals for next week are to finish the Dikkers Guide proposal and make significant progress on next proposal, for the Ai Private Eye comic book.
